Kichizo is an orphan boy who has developed complicated feelings for a seamstress, Okyo, who lives in his village. He is often teased for his feelings instead of being able to open up. One day Okyo tells him that she is leaving her life as a seamstress and has decided to become someone's mistress. Kichizo is broken, he leaves her with his anger. Quickly Kichizo regrets his decision, but by the time he has decided to apologize Okyo is gone. In a quest to be honest with Okyo, Kichizo packs up his belongings and chases after her. On his journeys he encounters new people and new experiences. Will Kichizo be able to confess to Okyo, or will he find new love along the way?
